-You work a long hard day and finally get home, ready for bed. You walk to your bedroom and see yourself sleeping.
-I look in the mirror and see nothing.
-He looks down at me with those sad brown eyes, with a knowing smile he says, “Don’t look behind you.” I look up and see nothing.
-I stand there, by the crib, mourning my child’s death. I walk out of the room and turn off the lights only to hear a baby’s laughter.
-I sit alone at my house, growing bored I rap my knuckles on the table in front of me. Someone knocks back.
-I’m sitting home alone when a voice calls to me, “Don’t look behind you.” Funny thing is, I’m deaf.
-I realized that my inner thoughts are not my own.
Here are some of the better ones I found online.
-You hear your mom calling you into the kitchen. As you are heading down the stairs you hear a whisper from the closet saying “Don’t go down there honey, I heard it too.”
-The heart attack came and went, knocking Mike into unconsciousness, and as he awoke he could hear the graveside service around him. Somehow the casket was translucent to him and he recognized some of his friends, but his body would not move and he realized with terror what death really was.
-I begin tucking him into bed and he tells me, “Daddy check for monsters under my bed.” I look underneath for his amusement and see him, another him, under the bed, staring back at me quivering and whispering, “Daddy there’s somebody on my bed.”
